Peripheral nervous system and musculoskeletal disorders

The department provides rehabilitation for the following patients:

1. After musculoskeletal injuries - bone fractures, dislocations, injuries to the capsular ligamentous apparatus of joints, contractures in the post-immobilization period and after surgical interventions;
2. After joint and limb surgery, including osteosynthesis, endoprosthesis, arthroscopies, corrective surgery (including foot surgery), spinal surgery;
3. For all types of arthritis (coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, omarthrosis, etc.) at different stages;
4. In multiple skeletal deformities in patients with hereditary systemic connective tissue diseases;
5. After spinal fractures;
6. After peripheral nerve injuries and operations to repair them;
7. In dorsopathies (osteochondrosis) with lesions of the intervertebral discs in all regions of the spine;
8. After amputations and exoprosthetics.

The Department has an extensive use of the following methods:

1. Kinesio taping;
2. Intra- and periarticular administration of medicines and PRP (platelet-rich plasma);
3. Robotic mechanotherapy facilities of the department of exercise therapy and clinical biomechanics;
4. Natural and preformed factors of the physiotherapy and balneology departments;
5. Psychological rehabilitation, including measures for the timely prevention and correction of mental disorders and for the patient's conscious and active involvement in the rehabilitation process.

The traditional Russian school of medical rehabilitation takes an individualized approach to each individual patient's physical and mental problems, combined with modern innovations in medical robotics, biomechanics, high-tech advances in traumatology-orthopaedics and neurophysiology, and today serves as a distinctive feature of our department.
