Combining the system of medical check-ups, treatment and secondary prevention (medical rehabilitation and health resort treatment) will contribute to the increase in the working age of the Russian population.

This statement was made by Anatoly Fesyun, acting director of NMRC for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Dr. Sci. (Medicine), associate professor, during his speech at the II International Euro-Asian Forum of Internal Medicine Doctors, held in Ufa.

Anatoly Fesyun presented the report "Sanatorium and spa institutions of the Russian Federation. Modern outlook", in which he noted the importance of fulfilling the task of demographic transition and increasing life expectancy of the Russian population, set by the President of the Russian Federation within the frames of the strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation.
"It is necessary to improve a three-level system, developed and built in the Soviet period, from preventive medical examinations to sanatorium and spa treatment. Implementation of this model "polyclinic/outpatient facility - inpatient (medical rehabilitation) - sanatorium" in modern practice will provide the population with a high-quality and affordable medical care. Historically, a system of this kind had been already in place and functioned successfully," said Anatoly Fesyun.

In addition, acting director of NMRC for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Russia reminded the forum participants that, according to new federal law of 04.08.2023 No. 469-ФЗ, all sanatorium and spa institutions are required to place information about available natural medicinal resources, including details of special medical opinions, as well as information about therapeutic and recreational areas and resorts in the software and information complex "State Register of the Resort Fund of the Russian Federation" until 01.01.2025.

Within the frames of the II International Euro-Asian Forum of Internal Medicine Doctors, Maxim Yakovlev, deputy director for strategic development of medical activities of NMRC Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Dr. Sci. (Medicine) also made a presentation "Medical Rehabilitation: Non-drug Technologies. Management system. Quality control".
