Main areas of research activities
- Study of the peculiarities of motor stereotype changes in ischaemic stroke, craniocerebral trauma, multiple sclerosis using optoelectronic 3-D video analysis of movements. The study of the biomechanical structure of central paresis helps in selecting targeted personalized methods of medical rehabilitation and evaluating the effectiveness of the ongoing treatment.
- Study of the methods of objectification of stress level and assessment of the evolution of the experienced discomfort during rehabilitation measures in order to increase the effectiveness of treatment and improve the quality of life of patients with central nervous system damage.
- Investigating the effect of cognitive-motor rehabilitation, including correction of stress-associated disorders, on the improvement of motor, cognitive functions and psycho-emotional state of patients with the consequences of craniocerebral trauma.
- Development and improvement of medical and psychological adaptation methods aimed at the reduction of anxiety-depressive spectrum disorders and correction of personality deformation.
- Search for effective screening methods for early detection of cognitive impairment and development of effective cognitive rehabilitation programmes aimed at prevention and correction of cognitive impairments.
- Development of comprehensive targeted programmes of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium and spa treatment for patients with central nervous system dysfunction (stroke, multiple sclerosis, craniocerebral trauma) using innovative diagnostic technologies and rehabilitation methods. Further implementation of the developed targeted medical rehabilitation programmes will provide a better rehabilitation prognosis, improve motor domain, walking capacity, cognitive functions and emotional background, improve quality of life, achieve the highest level of autonomy and independence in everyday life, which will help to reduce the percentage of disablement.
- Improvement of methods of neuropsychological diagnostics of patients with various brain lesions, enabling to assess the current status of higher mental functions.
- Development of effective rehabilitation programmes to overcome unilateral spatial agnosia in stroke patients.
- Systematization and improvement of psychotherapeutic and sanatorium and spa treatment methods for psychiatric disorders with assessment of evidence of their effectiveness, promotion of this trend among sanatorium and spa professionals and psychiatrists in order to improve care for sanatorium and spa patients with concomitant borderline psychiatric pathology and to increase the effectiveness of therapy for psychiatric inpatients.
